Tribes of India: The Meena tribe
One of the many tribes in India is the Meena tribe. According to the myths, legends, and oral history, the Meenas have descended from the Matsya avatar or the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. O nce ruled the former kingdoms of Jaipur and Alwar, forming an important part of the history of Rajasthan, and were by and large an agricultural community.
